What’s a Couple assessment?

A couple assessment is an online questionnaire that measures relational health. The assessment results serve as a tool to help couples gain awareness of the growth and strength areas of their life together. It gives couples a map in knowing what areas will need the greatest attention in order to develop a thriving relationship. It’s valuable to engaged couples, newly marrieds, struggling couples and couples who are interested in gaining a better understanding of their compatibility.

What assessment do you use?

I have been a Prepare/Enrich facilitator for over a decade and have used the Prepare/Enrich assessment with over 100 couples. It measures 9 categories of relational health:

  • Communication

  • Conflict-Management

  • Partner Style & Habits

  • Financial Management

  • Leisure Activities

  • Sexual Expectations

  • Family & Friends

  • Character Traits

  • Spiritual Beliefs

*Note: The assessment is created by a Christian organization but I use the “Non-religious” version when assessing couples.

What’s Your role as a celebrant?

After you take the assessment, I will guide you through the assessment results (normally 4, 1-hour sessions), foster conversation in neglected areas, and equip you with exercises and strategies for improving the growth areas in your relationship. This usually takes four 1-hour sessions.
